In the press

Over the past years Suite hotel Pincoffs has been rather prominently present in the media and national television.
Below you will find a small selection of quotes and articles in the media.

’The place to be for visitors wanting to explore the city and indulge in a little pampering’.
The Michelin Guide 2013 + 2014

‘The most exclusive hotel of the city'.
ELLE Decor, Milan

'A boutique jewel set in a old customs house'.
The Independent

'The divine Pincoffs is the baby of Karen Hamerlynck and her husband Edwin van der Meijde, former journalist who have turned an 1879 customs house into a smashing boutique hotel...'

'One of the honeymoon suites, which was spacious but accommodating and with the kind of bathroom I dream about; whirlpool jacuzzi, twin sinks and walk-in shower with two shower heads. But this wasn’t the best thing about the room; that had to be the view – from three tall windows, each offering a different viewpoint – out across the River Maas. With two chairs positioned perfectly so we could sit and watch the sun set as boats sailed past, I got to enjoy a view of Rotterdam not everyone enjoys.
Travelettes, Hotels we Love 2014

'Superb hotel in a historic riverside building'.
The Times Online

’The owners passion for design, photography and wine merged into this luxurious hotel situated in a building full of history - the result is spectacular!''

'A gem, for business men too'.

'A lovely hotel that offers the business traveler something a little different from the big chains'.
Business Traveler

‘Rotterdam visitors went mad for the Pincoffs, which was described as a "gem one seldom finds in a big city" on Tripadvisor.’

The Standard Magazine, USA: ,,Housed in the former Customs and Tax Building, designed by J.S.C. van der Wall, the property dates back to 1879 and was completely renovated in 2008 to accomodate the dream of two former journalists, Edwin van der Meijde and Karen Hamerlynck. Their passion for design, photography and wine merged into this luxurious hotel situated in a building full of history - the result is spectacular!''
,,(...) At Pincoffs, we could feel the passion for history, the pride for the port and the enthusiasm to serve each guest with a uniq ue personal experience - all of which are reflected in a balanced design blended with old and new.''

Wallpaper** City Guide Rotterdam: 'The devine Pincoffs is the baby of Karen Hamerlynck and her husband Edwin van der Meijde, former journalists who have turned an 1879 customs house into a smashing 11-room/ six-suite boutique hotel, with the help of stylist Mirjam van der Rijst. The hotel blends innovative design with suberb service and high-tech pampering. Art Suite XL, designed by the artist Liesbeth van Ginneken, features a steam-room shower, a vast bedroom and a seperate dining/ meeting area, with a table made of reclaimed wood, plus an extra bathroom. All of the art and much of the furniture have bdeen produced using recycled materials - we love the rocking chairs upholstered in old Duch jute mail sacks by Marlene den Dekker. Pincoffs manages somehow to be both musculary corporate and ever-so-slightly camp.'
